A White Rose
The red rose whispers of passion,
and the white rose breathes of love
O, the red rose is a falcon,
and the white rose is a dove.
But i send you a cream white rosebud.
With a flush on its petal tips;
for the love that is purest and sweetest
has a kiss of desire on the lips.

I think this poem is simply about the different types of love and how they can be expressed differently. He uses the metaphor of roses to show that although each rose is different and has its own thing to offer (it represents different things), they are all essentially apart of love.
my metaphor:
love is gravity because it stabelizes you. It is a source of safety because everyone wants to be safe on the ground, also it causes everyone to fall similarily to how love makes people fall over themselves and make mistakes. Gravity is love because it holds our world together and without gravity everything seems to float out of place.
